20/ Since you insist . . .

It doesn't seem right to whine when your granddaughter, so loving and beautiful and so much fun, who lives in Florida, is spending a couple of days with me. But since you insist, I'll tell you that when I stepped outside on this gorgeous morning I discovered deer had eaten all my hostas. Worse, it was my own fault for not being conscientious about spraying Liquid Fence.

  1. I'm always amazed that you have so many wild animals on your doorstep. Sorry about your hostas, though.

  2. Wait. What? Liquid Fence? Will this keep my dogs out of my garden?

    1. Liquid Fence (Repels All is another brand) is a stinky (STINKY!) spray that makes a plant unappealing to deer and rabbits—and I suppose other animals. I don't think it would keep dogs out of the garden. They might love it.

    2. My dogs are definitely not putt-off by stinky smells.

    3. Of course, but putt-off, I meant put-off.

  3. Nooo! The deer have left my hostas, but for some reason topped off all my cone flowers just as they were ready to bloom. It is so frustrating to view the aftermath, even on a perfectly lovely morning with your granddaughter!
