17/ 1986 Dreams for Myself, Part XII


In 1986 I wanted a better appearance. To me today, my appearance in 1986 was just fine. I was 32 years younger! But I’d immersed myself in motherhood, wore "mom clothes," and rarely wore makeup. I lost confidence along with the many inches I’d cut from my long blonde hair. Found it again when I lost weight nine years later.

    I've always wanted a better appearance! You're lucky to have found confidence, as I've never really had it. I thought I was fat when I was in my late teens, when actually I was close to being underweight. Sigh.

      Being a teenager in the 70s wasn't easy (says the fat girl). But I guess it never is.
