A friend teaches English as a second language to adult immigrants. These were statements made by some of them. I think they were from Africa.
The Paintbox, a found poem
Orange, I feeling so happy with life.
Red make me think in the love.
Purple makes me think of wind.
Green makes me think of sunrise.
Red reminder to peoples left me
they are in the sky.
Orange makes me sit down.
You're being too humble calling these "Found" poems, because you are the one who puts them together into poems.
ReplyDeleteI love this one. Though green and sunrise had me fooled - maybe that's when the green appears?
And the final red - that's the life of immigrants or refugees, isn't it?
Orange makes me sit down - I don't get it, but I like it. :)
ReplyDeleteI don't get it either, but it seemed a good line to end a poem. :-)
DeleteGreen sunrise reminds me of a banner I made for church for Easter that featured green amongst the purple that was shattered by white like shards of a mirror and one ridiculous committee member asking again and again why on earth I would ever choose green for sunrise colors and all I could think of when I made the thing was that green was new life and what else is sunrise but a new chance?
ReplyDeletePerfect.
DeleteAgain, so creative. And I wish I felt more orange and less blue today.
