21/ Cabbage Salad II

This started out as a recipe, but now I just wing it: Mix together good cabbage (coarsely shredded), celery (lots), scallions or other onion, a can of vegetarian baked beans (rinsed/drained), and cooked rotini pasta. Add some real mayo, and sprinkle with dry mustard. Salt to taste. Original recipe added ham/cheese/green pepper. Good either way.

  1. Aren't all baked beans vegetarian?

Mustard and mayo. A good combination.

    1. In the U.S., at least, many varieties of canned baked beans contain a fatty piece of pork.

    2. I see now. I'd be very shocked if I got a piece of port in a can of baked beans!

  2. This does not sound appealing, but I will take your word for it.

    1. You might be surprised. I've gotten several people hooked on it, with ham and without. I get cravings for it, and then eat more than I normally do at one sitting. My DIL is the same way. We were laughing about it yesterday when she was wishing she hadn't eaten all of it the day before.
