I thought they were sick—feverish—those young people slumped and dozing in the doctor's waiting room. Later I heard on the news he was trading opiates for sex. But before I knew that, I knew I had to find another doctor. I realized it the moment he sweetly asked if he could touch my t-shirt.

ReplyDeleteSadly true. He was also selling morphine lollipops in bars. He and his wife were both charged, and the sad part was they had two adorable little girls. He was sentenced to 6-12 years (not sure about the wife), and that was in 2004, so he must be out now. His license was suspended for 10 years, so he may well be practicing.

DeleteGood god, I think someone needs to set up a creepy doctor registry. I have a doctor story I may tell this month as well (although it's nowhere near as bad as this one).
ReplyDeleteWhen I Googled him to look up the date, I found him listed on a website called DoctorsOfCourage.org--doctors who were "attacked" by the federal government. I wonder how they define courage.
