18/Serial

Of all the comments Jeremy made at the museum, one of them stood out. Maybe it was the way he looked at me when he said it, or the inflection in  his voice. But after I got home and changed my clothes I could still hear it. So it seemed reasonable to ask, "Daddy, what's a phallic symbol?"

    Oh dear!
    Reminds me of one of my mother-in-law's stories. She was very naive, and during the war was a typist in the army doing medical records. She had to type the word "testicle" but didn't know what it meant (she was one of seven sisters), and asked one of her commanding officers!
