24/ Carbs in Brief, 2 of 2
. . . 52 by this time. Menopausal. Figured it was my last chance to lose weight. I knew I was insulin-resistant. Cut carbs ruthlessly. No fruit, no nuthin'. Gave up saturated fats re heart issue. Lost almost 50 lbs. Added fruit, then occasional pasta, etc. Still no sweets or bread. Gained back 10-12 lbs. (No big deal.)

I hate that - "my last chance to lose weight." Given that I am a few years older than 52. Life is cruel to women!
ReplyDeleteI just came back from dinner with friends, three of who are on the keto diet. I'm amazed at how much weight they have lost by eating bacon all day long.
ReplyDeleteIf I ate bacon all day long I'd be a thin corpse. Actually, I don't think I could eat that way long enough to get thin on it. I'd probably have a coronary within days.
